At Last I Begin or Wouldn't Grandma Mary Be Happy!

Grandma Mary Louise Fowler Schwerdt

I wanted to start this blog to keep my family close.  Each child we added to our family was such a special occasion and filled our hearts with so much love and excitement.  Each of you are very precious to me and I love you tremendously!  Each marriage has brought a wonderful new person to love and add to our family.  We are now working on the third generation to our family with all its joy and shared experience.

I remember joining Scott's family with Grandma Mary as the matriarch of the family.  What an amazing woman she was!  Always there at the important moments. Remembering everyone and adding something wonderful to every holiday, dinner, birth, or important occasion in the family.  She was kind, tough, demanding, and giving.  You always knew where you stood with Grandma.  Not one to keep her thoughts to herself!  We would laugh so many times at the latest upbraiding from Grandma!  And don't ever forget a thank you note! But more seriously, family was of the utmost importance and paramount in her life. We would all do well to keep that tradition in our lives.  We love you Grandma Mary, and this one is in honor of you!

  1. So many fond memories of Great Grandma Mary - and little moments that will always stick with me too - the fork in my back at the dinner table, soggy zucchini (blech) but funnily enough I now love zucchini, Christmas with Santa visit and the little elf in her hair, and who can forget Great Grandma Mary's butterfly kisses. :)

I love this, Mom! I can't wait to read more about our heritage. Love you!
